  guess i've been lurking long enough.

  been about 2 yrs or longer.. take a lot of nerve for the first post.my husband and i both left.

  i like you american ,aussies and other foriegners, but why are there so few british people here?.

  you would think with all those people leaving the org in britian there would be more here.. come on you brits get on here, i want to see you posting.

  Hello to Lesley and Steven and all the rest of the British .We are a bit thin on the ground arn't we?I know so many who have left and disapeared in recent years-but it dos'nt look as though they're turning up here;I think we tend to go to ground- like foxes!I'm rather down at present,due to a medical prob, so tend to post/read when I need to take my mind off it.But you all really cheer me up!!!!THANKS TO EVERYONE X

  Update on AlanF's Daughter

  now that dad has recovered his equilibrium, i just wanted to say a huge thanks to everyone who expressed concern about my daughter the last couple of weeks.

  in the great scheme of things this is a minor matter but it sure affected me!

  i guess my family has been pretty lucky compared to others.. anyway, julie (that's the daughter one, not the wifely one) recovered so fast that she returned to school this past monday.

  we know how much in the way of doctrine is scripturally deficient in the watchtower organization, but they will always come back and say something on the following lines:.

  * look at the fruit of our works.

  millions are coming to an accurate knowledge about jehovah who would never get to know him where it not for our preaching activities carried out worldwide.

  Yerusalim;good points, but when ever I brought up this point they'd say... 'where are the hospitals Jesus built?The aids centres,the soup kitchens and charities for the homeless?He came to preach not to set up charities...AAAAGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!

  hi there everyone, i have posted a few times but after reading some life stories i decided to put mine on here in a condensed version.i don't know about anyone else but it helps me to read other peoples life stories, kind of validates that "hey, i'm not crazy, it was the org.

  that was so warped.

  " ok, here goes...i was raised catholic-12 years of parochial school and all only to find myself pregnant at 18 and being told by the monseniour(higher-up priest, really old guy)that it would be bettter for my child to be born a bastard(exact word used) than for me to marry the unbelieving father-he was a baptist.

  Hello Nita!Good to have you here!What a great idea, to get councelling for your kids,does the ex object?Takes the negatives of the jw situation away from you,and places them in a 'public' setting.
  I had similar feelings re the saying 'no' thing.I do'nt know if it's a concious decision; but they manage to make you feel you're not just rejecting the issue/doctrine etc; but them as a person.It took a long time to resolve that particular issues so I could see the situation clearly and feel I could tell them each and everything I rejected without feeling bad about myself.But boy do they know now !!!

  i'm curious: what rules have you dealt with that were just "too much" -- whether they were "official" (i.e.

  in print) or not?.

  i think a good, general one is r-rated movies.

  Ephan;Thanks for that thread-I needed to get that out.YES!I WENT.As did so many friends and family that some could not get into the church.The service was full of beauty,memories,comfort and gratitude and so unlike a witless fureral.We went from there to a crematorium,to her favourute hotel,then to an internment at a churchyard as the sun was setting in orange and purple on a hazy summer evening.And they thought I would'nt find comfort in that? Imagine how i'd be NOW, if I had'nt gone then?Apparently I proved how spiritually weak I was by going. They won't get that,how sad.

  i know that by nature (or nurture!

  ) i have an addictive personality so i have tried to be real careful that i'm doing the right thing by getting involved with them.

  Youknow;the name of your CO please; I need to communicate with him via this issue; I was ostracised for showing people threads from here, I need a CO to back me up on this issue that now makes even the ones who spoke to me, ignore me.
  Due to your insistance that you are doing nothing your congregation would disaprove of;I will now start an educational programme in my area,based on enlightening the JW youth in the importance of the internet;citing your experiences as my motivation.I appologise for thinking this activity was banned,I have much to learn.
